I made this fabric cuff with an image from the Halloween Takes Flight set from Sin City Stamps.
Here’s how I made it.
I stamped the image with ColorBox Chalk Ink in Blackbird onto a piece of tightly woven cotton and heat set it with an iron.
I ripped a strip of printed canvas for the cuff base and chose another cotton print to add to the piece.
I sewed the complementary pieces to the stamped piece, then turned and pressed the top and bottom edges of that section.
I cut two pieces of the canvas strip. They need to be long enough to go around your wrist loosely, overlap for the closure, and turn under a hem.
I stitched the pieced section to one of the canvas pieces. This picture shows the wrong sides of the canvas pieces.
Then I chose a vintage button for the closure and cut a strip of silk sari ribbon to make a loop. I turned under the edges of the canvas pieces, sandwiched the loop in between them, pinned them together (right sides together) and then stitched them together.
Then I sewed on my button and my cuff was ready to wear!
