This is a really easy Halloween party invitation you can make using the Pumpkin Hot Air Balloon stamp from the Halloween Takes Flight stamp set from Sin City Stamps.
Here’s what you need:
Lavender cardstock
Black and white paper
Distress Inks in Tea Dye, Spiced Marmalade and Vintage Photo
India Ink
Because there is so much text on an invitation, it’s easier to print it with your computer than to stamp it all individually. I set mine up so that the finished invitation would be about 4 inches by 9 inches, which fits into a regular business size envelope. You can buy them in pretty colors at craft stores. You can fit the text for two invitations on one 8.5 by 11 inch page.
I printed my text onto a sheet of lavender cardstock with black ink and stamped the image with India Ink from Stewart Superior. I trimmed it down to about 3 by 7.25 inches.
The folks from The Robin's Nest sent us some beautiful papers to work with. I cut a 4 by 9 inch piece from this one:
Then I inked it with Distress Inks in Tea Dye, Spiced Marmalade and Vintage Photo. I started with the lightest (Tea Dye) and ended with the darkest (Vintage Photo), adding more of the darker colors around the outer edges. I added some of the Tea Dye Distress Ink to the lavender piece.
Then I adhered the text portion of the invitation to the inked base. That’s all there is to it!
Of course, you can vary the font, colors and image choice to set the mood for your own party. Sin
City Stamps has lots of wonderful Halloween stamps to choose from. You can use them not only for your invitations, but for place cards, name tags, tags for treat bags, banners, and other decorations.
Happy Halloween!
